Job Description:
Job Description The General Manager will lead the factory's overall business and operational performance. This hands-on position combines plant management, procurement oversight, cost control, and coordination with government authorities and the Adra industrial zone administration. The successful candidate will translate business objectives into practical operating plans and coordinate production and commercial priorities. Key Responsibilities • Lead daily factory operations and coordinate production, commercial, accounting, and administrative activities. • Develop operating plans and budgets aligned with production capacity, customer demand, and available resources. • Monitor production output, delivery performance, operating costs, material usage, and profitability. • Oversee procurement of raw materials, production consumables, spare parts, and other operational requirements. • Evaluate suppliers, negotiate commercial terms, and monitor purchasing quality, cost, and delivery reliability. • Coordinate with the Plant Engineer to address production constraints, equipment downtime, quality concerns, and maintenance priorities. • Review product costing, purchasing expenditure, inventory levels, and opportunities to reduce waste. • Work with the Commercial Manager on sales forecasts, pricing inputs, order commitments, and collection priorities. • Coordinate factory documentation and follow-up with relevant government authorities and the Adra industrial zone administration. • Establish practical procedures, approval controls, and clear responsibilities across the factory team. • Promote safe working practices and ensure operational concerns receive timely attention.

Candidate Profile A practical industrial leader who is comfortable managing a lean manufacturing business and remaining closely involved in daily operations. The ideal candidate combines commercial judgment with operational discipline and can manage overlapping responsibilities while maintaining control of costs, delivery commitments, and team performance. Desired Skills and Experience • Preferably eight or more years of experience in industrial manufacturing, including management responsibility. • A degree in engineering, industrial management, business administration, or a related discipline is preferred. • Experience in sandwich panels, building materials, metal processing, insulation products, or related manufacturing is advantageous. • Demonstrated ability to manage factory operations, procurement, budgets, and cost control. • Understanding of production planning, inventory management, supplier evaluation, and manufacturing economics. • Familiarity with industrial operations in Syria and coordination with local authorities is advantageous. • Strong leadership, negotiation, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. • Ability to interpret operational reports and financial information. • Proficiency in spreadsheets and relevant business management systems. • Strong Arabic communication skills; English sufficient for supplier correspondence and technical documentation is advantageous.
